The Best Wild Turkey Hunting in the Southeast

If you’re looking for the best in Eastern wild turkey hunting, you’ll find it here at Westervelt Lodge, Alabama. Our 12,000 contiguous acres of Tombigbee River bottom and mixed pine/hardwood stands are managed exclusively for wild turkey. Our intensively managed upland areas and miles of roadside management zones provide excellent nesting and brood habitat that keep our turkey numbers on the rise year after year.

Depending on group size, each guest will have anywhere from 800 to 1000 acres to hunt, ensuring plenty of room to set their sights on a gobbling bird. Westervelt turkey hunts are one-on-one guided by our veteran staff. Our guides are expert in turkey hunting in Alabama with the skills necessary to help the beginner hunter be successful or provide landscape knowledge to the seasoned hunter who prefers going head-to-head with one of our wary longbeards.

Policy: At Westervelt Lodge, hunters are allowed to harvest one longbeard gobbler per day.

Hunting wild turkey at Westervelt Lodge is nothing short of legendary. The excitement of the hunt, paired with the expertise of a professional guide who knows every call and contour of the land, makes for an unforgettable experience. Knowing I was walking the same woods as icons like Colonel Tom Kelly and Ben Rogers Lee gave the whole trip a deeper meaning. This isn’t just a hunt—it’s a step into the rich legacy of the sporting world.
